Where can I buy Freelap products and find pricing information?
Visit the distributor page to find your reseller and request a quote. If no reseller is available in your country, please contact the headquarters in Switzerland directly.
Which sports can I use Freelap for?
Freelap technology is ideal for athletics, skiing, biathlon, motocross, speed skating, soccer and American football. Freelap adapts to any discipline that requires timing with a start, laps and a finish.
What is the warranty period and how can I contact after-sales service?
Freelap products come with a 2-year warranty. For any after-sales service request, please contact your reseller or the headquarters in Switzerland.

FxChip, FxChip BLE or FxMotion : which one should I choose?
- For FxChip BLE and FxMotion, visit the athletics page.

Where can I find my transponder ID?
You can find the transponder ID directly on the device. It uses the following format : 2 letters – 4 digits.
How can I check the battery level and recharge a Freelap product?
Each product has its own battery level checking and charging system. Please refer to the manual of the product concerned.
Setups
Where should I place my transmitters?
For optimal and accurate results, it is essential to follow the instructions provided in the Sport-specific guides. Setup examples adapted to your discipline are also preconfigured in MyFreelap.
How many transmitters can I place on my course?
Limit each path to a maximum of 11 transmitters per transponder and per lap with FxChip BLE and FxChip.
Limit each path to a maximum of 5 transmitters per transponder and per lap with FxMotion.
What minimum distance should I respect between 2 transmitters?
Respect a minimum of 10 meters or 0.7 seconds between 2 transmitters.
Is there a maximum distance between 2 transmitters?
No, there is no maximum distance between 2 transmitters.
How and where should I attach my transponder?
Consult the full sport-specific guide corresponding to your discipline to attach the transponder correctly.
Where should I place my mobile device?
Place your mobile device between 10 m and 50 m after the FINISH transmitter, approximately 1 meter above the ground. Do not place your device on the ground.
When is the data transmitted?
Data is received and displayed instantly each time the athlete passes a finish transmitter coded as FINISH.
MyFreelap
What is the MyFreelap app used for?
- Collecting training data live. The transponder communicates with the app via Bluetooth.
- Analyzing athlete progress.
- Updating your Freelap products.
How do I know if my phone or tablet is compatible?
Use MyFreelap on iOS 13.0 minimum and Android 7.0 minimum.
Can I use MyFreelap without an Internet connection?
Oui. Activez le Bluetooth pour recevoir les données. Pour utiliser le mode hors-ligne, connectez-vous d’abord à votre compte en mode en ligne avant l’entraînement.
Which languages is the app available in?
English, French, Chinese and Korean.
How do I update the MyFreelap app?
Always keep the app updated to the latest available version. When an update is available, open your app store, search for MyFreelap, then tap Update.
MyFreelap Legacy
What is the MyFreelap Legacy app used for?
MyFreelap Legacy is the former MyFreelap app. Most MyFreelap Legacy features are now available in MyFreelap.
We recommend using MyFreelap.
Freelap Device Manager
What is the Freelap Device Manager app used for?
FDM features are now available in the MyFreelap app.
However, you can still use FDM to update older products in the range, such as FxSwim, first-generation Relay Coach and first-generation LED Display.
If updates are available, you will be notified in the MyFreelap app.
Smartwatches
Can I use a smartwatch?
Yes. Receive your live timing data throughout training on a smartwatch. For now, use the MyFreelap Legacy app for this purpose. This feature is not yet available in MyFreelap.
Which smartwatches are compatible?
Use an Apple Watch from watchOS 5.1, a Wear OS watch from Wear OS 2.0, or a Samsung Gear from Wear 3.0. Garmin and Fitbit watches are not compatible.
Troubleshooting
What should I check first if there is a problem?
Check that you are using the right products for your discipline, that the app is open and in the foreground on iOS, that Bluetooth and Location Services are enabled on the mobile device, that the transmitters are turned on and correctly coded, that at least one transmitter is coded as FINISH, that there are no more than 11 transmitters on the path, that they are spaced at least 0.7 s / 10 m apart, that the transponder is correctly attached, that the athlete properly passes through the detection zones, that your devices and apps are up to date, that the mobile device is correctly placed between 10 m and 50 m after FINISH and approximately 1 m above the ground, that the battery is not empty, and that you are not in the immediate vicinity of a railway line.
After replacing the battery in my FxChip BLE, the device no longer works or its ID has changed. What should I do?
If the ID has reset to AA-0001, follow the procedure provided to restore the original FxChip BLE ID. The procedure takes approximately 2 minutes.
