Transponders, transmitters and accessories
Find the essential manuals and reference information for Freelap transmitters, transponders and accessories, so you can quickly identify the right product for your use case and configure your system more easily.
The Freelap documentation currently groups, from a product-based perspective, the manuals related to transponders, transmitters, and certain additional equipment such as the Relay Coach BLE or the LED Display.
Transmitters and timing units
Transmitters and timing units are used to create start, split or finish points along the course, depending on the sport and configuration. The current Freelap documentation includes references such as Tx Junior Pro, Tx Track Pro, Tx Pad Pro, Tx Touch Pro, e-Starter, PowerUnit & SpaceUnit for track and field, Tx Pro Team, Tx Gate Pro, Tx Full Track and Mx Start.
Tx Pro Team
Equipment designed for certain group-based or coach-led use cases.
Main transponders
FxMotion
FxMotion is presented by Freelap as its premium Bluetooth transponder, specifically designed for athletics. Worn by the athlete, it measures time intervals between the transmitters passed and transmits the data via Bluetooth at the finish. Freelap also indicates that it provides reaction time and stride analysis: frequency, length and number of strides.
FxChip BLE
FxChip BLE is Freelap’s compact Bluetooth transponder. The product page indicates that each device has a unique ID, allowing several athletes or riders to be timed simultaneously. It is activated by movement and works with direct Bluetooth transmission.
FxChip
FxChip is Freelap’s radio transponder. Unlike the FxChip BLE, it does not send its data directly to the mobile device: it first transmits it by radio to the Relay Coach BLE, which then sends it via Bluetooth to the mobile device. This is therefore a different setup logic, more dependent on the relay.
Accessories and associated equipment
In addition to transponders and transmitters, Freelap also documents several associated pieces of equipment, including Relay Coach BLE, LED Display, PowerUnit & SpaceUnit for track and field, PowerUnit & SpaceUnit for motocross, and Handlebar foam.
Which solution should you choose for your use case?
I am looking for a transmitter or timing unit
If your need concerns the start, split point or finish on the course, first consult the manuals in the Tx family, or specific products such as e-Starter, Tx Gate Pro or Mx Start.
I am looking for a transponder
Start by identifying whether you need direct Bluetooth transmission or a radio-based setup with a relay. Then choose between FxMotion, FxChip BLE or FxChip depending on your use case.
I am looking for an accessory or display solution
If you need a relay, live display or additional component, go to the Accessories and associated equipment section.
I am looking for the right setup for my sport
In this case, do not rely only on this page. It is more logical to start with the Sport-specific guides, then come back here to download the right manual.
Configuration and updates
For Freelap products with Bluetooth functionality, configuration and updates are managed through Freelap Device Manager. This applies in particular to products such as FxChip BLE, Relay Coach BLE and LED Display, which are all included among the equipment documented in the current support center.
